Meet Dr. Kerch

Dr. Kerch

My mission of providing pain relief from the ground up began when I was ten years old. I stated to everyone and wrote in my diary that I wanted to become a foot doctor. I had seen information advertised on television as a child about the importance of foot care for diabetics. This intrigued me enough to launch my life long goal of becoming a podiatrist and helping diabetics and anyone suffering from foot/ankle problems.

In the more than twenty years I have been in private solo practice, it has been an honor to serve Seattleites and visitors having foot pain. In the summer of 2002 I was introduced to the Z-CoiL® footwear which was said to relieve people of foot leg and back pain. I decided to do a trial study with a few patients with the Z-CoiL® footwear to see if they obtained pain relief. The results of this trial were substantial relief of pain in areas where other treatments had not worked. These results were enough to make a decision to set a new course for me, my practice, and my patients.

I decided it was too important not to introduce this possibility of pain relief to more people by bringing the Z-CoiL® footwear to Seattle. The decision in 2003 to move out of the Medical Dental Building, site of my medical practice on the 4th floor for 13 years, to move to a ground floor shop presence on Pine St, was a monumental one for me. My intention of keeping the Ballard office operating at the same time was an easy one since I had such supportive patients during this time of transition. All beginnings are a challenge and my staff and I set out to do it right.

Our Grand Opening of Your 2 Feet was in November of 2003 at 1201 Pine St. The inventor of the Z-CoiL® footwear, Alvero Gallegos, came to Seattle to inaugurate the new shop. Linda Seay played tunes on the guitar and sang for our musical pleasure. There were catered treats, raffles and Z-CoiL® give-aways.

I have found a new forum for educating people about foot heath, emerging treatments and products. I will be speaking for the first time at the Northwest Women's Show. My presentation is titled: Limp in, Leap Out-The Female Foot from Eve to Gucci, 7 Foot Myths Revealed. See Your 2 Feet's home page for more particulars and drop by our booth as well 3-19 to 3-21-04.

2004 is full of promise. Now local employers are exploring the possibility of having their employees wear the Z-coil pain relief footwear as a preventative measure against occupational injuries that often result from working on concrete floors. My mission to reach as many people as possible for offering pain relief services and products may soon reach a larger audience.
